SCIENTIFIC INTERESTS AND GOALS

My research interests lie primarily in understanding neuroimmunological disorders’ fundamental mechanisms, particularly Neuromyelitis Optica Spectrum Disorder (NMOSD) and Multiple Sclerosis (MS). Throughout my master’s studies at Koç University, I have focused on the complexities of optic neuritis (ON) related to NMOSD, investigating the roles of Muller cells and their interactions with autoantibodies. I aim to delve deeper into the basic science of brain cell interactions. I am motivated by a desire to uncover the intricate workings of immune cells and their interactions with the brain to gain fundamental insights that can pave the way for future translational research.
