Press release: Senate confirms Equal Opportunities Officer in post
No. 207 - 18.12.2025
Dr Doris Hayn re-elected – third term of office lasts eight years
Göttingen University’s Senate has re-elected Equal Opportunities Officer Dr Doris Hayn. Hayn has been the University's full-time equal opportunities officer and Head of the Equal Opportunities and Diversity Unit since 2012. Her third term of office will last eight years and begin in April 2026. “I am delighted about this unani-mous re-election and look forward to continuing to work together,’ said Professor Inge Hanewinkel, Vice-President for Equal Opportunities, Diversity and Internationalization. “Together, we will continue to promote equal opportunities and diversity at the University of Göttingen and work strategically to achieve our goals.”
Doris Hayn studied home economics and nutritional sciences at the University of Giessen, where she also received her PhD in 2000. She then worked as a research assistant at the Institute for Social-Ecological Research in Frankfurt am Main and, from 2009, as an equal opportunities officer for gender at the University of Konstanz. In July 2012, she moved to the University of Göttingen as a full-time equal opportunities officer. She has been Deputy Chair of the Lower Saxony Conference of Women's Representatives at Universities (LNHF) since April 2016 and has been a member of the board of the Lower Saxony Conference of Equal Opportunities Officers at Universities (lakog) since June 2024.
