The Student Identity Card of the University of Göttingen

All students at the University receive their student ID in the form of a chip card. First-year students can find out how to obtain the card on this page.

If your chip card is lost or damaged, you can apply for a replacement card.
New: From now on, cards can be ordered online and collected from the central campus. Please note these instructions for obtaining a replacement chip card.

New: From 1 June 2026, the old blue student ID cards can no longer be renewed. If you still have a blue card, you can find all the information you need about exchanging it here.
