with half the regular weekly working hours of a full-time employee (currently 19.90 hours/week) for a limited period of 3 years as of March 1, 2025 (or by agreement). The salary is based on salary group 13 TV-L.

The position is intended to serve the qualification of young scientists and offers the opportunity to do a doctorate.

The tasks to be completed as part of the doctoral thesis include the development, production, characterization and testing of the application of novel nanocomposites made of inorganic nanoparticles and synthetic organic polymers with a tailor-made architecture. Suitable laboratory space and analysis technology are available in the working group to carry out the work.

Participation in the courses in accordance with Section 31 NHG and in the performance examinations is also part of the job.

We are looking for people who have recently or will soon successfully complete a master's degree (M. Sc.) in chemistry (or comparable qualification) and who are interested in macromolecular chemistry. A very good education in macromolecular and/or inorganic solid-state chemistry, familiarity with the interaction of inorganic nanoparticles with polymers and practical experience in the production of nanostructures are desirable. Relevant industrial practical experience, e.g. as part of a student internship, is highly desirable. Good English skills and the willingness to cooperate with other working groups and with research partners at home and abroad are also expected.
The appointment requires a commitment to supervision as part of the GAUSS doctoral program.
