Prof. Dr. Nina Hossain

Nina Hossain is a Professor of Sociology at the University of Applied Sciences for Public Man-agement and Security (HöMS) at the Wiesbaden campus. Previously, she held an interim professor-ship of General Sociology at the University of Paderborn and worked as a postdoctoral researcher at Philipps University Marburg in the DFG-funded research project "The Regime of Emotions as a Strategy? An Analysis of Economic Subfields – Emotions, Emotional Capital, and Gender in the Late-Modern World of Work."
Her research focuses on organizational and labor sociology, gender and diversity studies, and the sociology of emotions. She studied Social Sciences (B.A.) at Justus Liebig University Giessen and Sociology (M.A.) at Philipps University Marburg, where she also completed her Ph.D. She is cur-rently finalizing her habilitation on "The Power of Emotions in the Late-Modern World of Work" (working title).
