Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages
To ensure healthy lives for all, Goal 3 aims to end epidemics, maternal mortality, the preventable death of new-borns and children as well as injuries from traffic accidents. It proposes to achieve universal health coverage and access to sexual and reproductive health-care services. In addition to that, environmental pollution must be reduced. Another goal is to improve the prevention and treatment of substance abuse.On that account, research and development of vaccines and medicines are to be advanced, among other things, and their purchase should be affordable. Apart from that, it is important to increase health financing and to strengthen health workforce. *
