What have we achieved so far?
Decentralised quality management
research-based – practical – high-quality: The new Master’s programme ‘Education, Learning and Inequality’ has been completely redesigned for the 2024/25 winter semester and addresses, amongst other things, questions regarding the origins of inequalities, the role they play and whether anything can be done to change them.
Until now, the practical sports courses had only one lesson per week. Discussions in the quality review meetings have shown that this is not sufficient to teach the necessary skills. The courses now therefore comprise two lessons per week.
From the 2024/25 winter semester onwards, our MA Sociology will be offered in a revised format, with a focus on the sociology of social inequalities.
Following discussions in December 2023 during the quality round regarding the new ‘part-time study’ option, this measure has now been implemented, meaning that the degree programme will also be available on a part-time basis from the 2024/25 winter semester. However, anyone considering this option will need to seek advice from Annegret Schallmann.
Following very long and protracted negotiations, we have succeeded in significantly improving the staffing situation in gender studies through the creation of two academic council posts and one post for a research assistant.
