PSA-SIM – Problem Solving Analytics in Office Simulations
About the Project
Our aim:1. Development of a virtual teaching-learning platform (LUCA) for the commercial traning and further education, enabling individual support and automated diagnostics - among other things based on AI mechanisms(log based real-time analyses, machine learning)
2. Description of vocational competence and identity developmet considering motivations of various career choices
Due to the skill shift driven by digitization, commercial work activities are increasingly characterised by complex problems, as simple routine activities are often automated. Therefore, aspiring commercial employees should already work on complex scenarios during their trainings. In the PSA-SIM project , building on the ASCOT-Projects DomPL-IK und CoBALIT, the office simulation LUCA is developed. It promotes the competencies of the trainees, in the professions of industrial, office manegement employees and enables teachers and trainers to easily develop virtual lessons in an office simulation environment.
Our approach: Technical Innovation, Empirical Longitudinal Design, and Practical Transfer
The software uses multiple innovative technologies: (partially) automated evaluation procedures for written text responses are planned to efficiently assess the test results of lareg participant groups. Additionally, the software analyses the problem solving processes in real time and offers individualised support based on these log data analyses. With the help of a large sample of trainees, the study aims to investigate how and through which means the vocational competencies and professional identities are developed over the course of the training and how individual support can be successfully implemented in LUCA. Extensive training measures will be developed and conducted for the practioners.
