Final Presentations of the Practice Project 2025
On June 25, 2025, the successful conclusion of this year’s practice project in the Master’s program in Management took place. As part of the Retail Logistics & Innovation Lab, students from the University of Göttingen and the University of Bremen presented their project results to an audience of researchers, lecturers, and practitioners – including representatives of our long-standing industry partner REWE Group.
The aim of this cross-university project was to analyze current challenges at the intersection of efficiency and resilience in grocery retail supply chains and to develop innovative, actionable solutions in close collaboration with our practice partners.
Working on real-life case studies, the student teams benefited from intensive supervision by the Lab team led by Prof. Dr. Matthias Klumpp (University of Bremen), Prof. Dr. Maik Hammerschmidt, and Katharina Berendes (both University of Göttingen), as well as from a close exchange with practitioners from the field.
The final presentations impressively demonstrated how rigorous management research, interdisciplinary collaboration, and practical relevance can be successfully integrated into university teaching. The results ranged from analytical tools for evaluating resilience strategies to concrete recommendations for designing logistics processes that are both adaptive and efficient.
We thank all participating students for their outstanding commitment, analytical acumen, and creative approaches to complex challenges – and extend our sincere appreciation to our practice partners for their continued collaboration and trust.
We look forward to continuing this successful format and to further joint projects on the future-oriented topic of supply chain resilience and efficiency.
